The young Mary, chosen to bear the Son of God, must have experienced deep anxiety over her future. The responsibility, judgment from others, and the uncertainty ahead were overwhelming. As a mother, her heart must have been filled with worries, especially when she watched her child, Jesus, grow and ultimately face the cruel reality of crucifixion. But through it all, she remained faithful and trusted that God’s purpose was greater than her fears. Her faith gave her the strength to endure the challenges of motherhood and the trials of her extraordinary calling.

David’s struggle with anxiety is a recurring theme in his life, especially during the years when he was fleeing from King Saul. In many of the Psalms, David expressed his deep fears and anxieties while being pursued. Yet, through these Psalms, he also demonstrated a profound trust in God. In Psalm 56:3, David states, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you,” encapsulating his reliance on God during times of distress.

David’s experience shows that even in moments of intense fear and uncertainty, he found solace in God’s protection. His prayers and songs reflect a vulnerable yet resilient faith, reminding readers that trusting in God can bring peace amidst anxiety.

Instead of sitting at His feet like her sister Mary, she became consumed with preparing and serving, anxious about getting everything done. However, Jesus gently reminded her that while tasks may seem urgent, there is a greater importance in focusing on Him and finding peace in His presence.
