Biblical Encouragement

18 Bible Verses to Read When You’re Feeling Lonely and Need Comfort

Sadly, loneliness is more common than we think.

According to a Gallup survey published earlier this month, over one in five people surveyed worldwide felt lonely “a lot of the day yesterday.” These feelings of loneliness only amplify other feelings of negativity, so it’s important to recognize the signs of feeling alone and seek necessary help where required. This could be from family and friends or perhaps a qualified therapist who you are comfortable confiding in.

However, for those of us who have embraced Christianity and accepted Jesus Christ into our lives, we know there is somewhere else we can look to, in addition to all other ways of seeking support – the Bible

As with so many challenging situations in life, the Bible is a great place to turn to for comfort and support when you need it most. Loneliness is no exception.

Here are 18 comforting Bible verses to read when you feel lonely.
